Finely crafted electro, James Shinra is making a killing in the business of sci-fi space club slayers. "Nebula" is the first to hit, switching between arp and acid for amped polarized move patterns, while "Runn" rides the analog-conda, tapping on FM bells for a more serene scene. Then my personal fav, "Nebula" makes for an excellent beginning, lightly opening up the maw of a blackhole, with "Interstellar" as a wrapper-up, a gentle yet complex parabolic descent from heaven to Earth's orbit. A master of his craft. This album is absolutely stunning. I've picked Ghost in the Machine as my favourite track, but to be honest, this is a difficult thing to do. It's like trying to choose between your children.
Essential listening.
Can't wait for the eventual follow up!! Pirtek
Dub basslines, spaced out synths, jittery pads and a box of beautiful squelchy analog brightness - perfect to smash on the headphones and stomp nonchalantly though a crowd of miserable commuters! Rev Mannix
